Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The manuscript does not contain any identifying information about the author(s)
  • You have prepared a separate title page that includes the title of the manuscript and the contact information of all (co-)authors
  • The manuscript adheres to all of the requirements outlined below in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

All submitted manuscripts should contain original work and must not be under consideration for publication at another journal. 

There are no submission fees or publication fees. 

Please submit

  1. A title page that contains the manuscript title, as well as contact information of all (co-)authors. Please include at least the full name, affiliation, and e-mail address for all authors. 
  2. The manuscript as a single document, including the title, abstract, main text, figures, tables, and appendices. All pages should be numbered consecutively. Please remove any identifying information from this document to help ensure a double-blind peer review process. 

Manuscript

Please ensure that

  • the manuscript is cleanly structured, easy to read, and free of typographical errors
  • the manuscript is double spaced, using 8" x 11" or A4 size paper
  • the manuscript has at least 1 inch margins and uses a standard font size and typeface
  • all pages in the manuscript are numbered consecutively
  • figures and tables are numbered consecutively
  • figures and tables have legends and notes that makes them as self-contained as possible. 
  • References are formatted consistently throughout the manuscript. We strongly prefer author-year citation styles, but you may use any citation style as long as it is consistent throughout the manuscript. The journal follows the APA format for published articles.  

Abstract

Please include an abstract of not more than 200 words. The abstract should include a readable summary of the research issues, methodology, and principal findings and contributions. Do not include any citations in the abstract. 

All documents should be submitted in Microsoft Word format or PDF format.

Accepted articles will be published under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International license.

This means that anyone will be able to share (i.e. copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format) and adapt (i.e. remix, transform, and build upon the material) in any reasonable manner, as long as appropriate credit is given, the material is not used for commercial purposes, and any sharing or adapting and is done not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses the use.  

Copyright will remain with the authors.
